From Complicated to Complex – SID’s Panel Discussion

(Sep 2017, Washington DC) STRAP participated in a panel discussion on how Political Economies Analyses (PEAs) become more prevalent in development, how can we use them to design and direct programs and achieve better outcomes in this space. This discussion was focused on how organizations have been using PEAs to increase the sophistication of their responses to complex issues. Speakers from most reputable private sector organizations discussed various applications of PEAs, including those used in interventions within the dynamic contexts of democratic governance, economic development, and global health. STRAP represented their engagements with the cash transfers and international energy projects to Pakistan and the effectiveness of this tool to various projects. The event was a popular event at SID with a generous breakfast sponsored by Adam Smith International.
